Apple is set to launch its next-generation iPhone SE as soon as next week, according to reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The company plans to unveil the device through a press release, rather than holding an event.
The new iPhone SE will feature an iPhone 14-style design, with Apple eliminating the thick bezels and Touch ID Home button of the current model. It is expected to have an A18 chip, 8GB RAM, and support Apple Intelligence. The device will also have a USB-C port, allowing it to be sold in Europe again.
Pricing for the iPhone SE 4 is expected to remain below $500, making it competitive with lower-end smartphones from Samsung and Google. However, due to the inclusion of faster chip, Face ID, and other features, Apple could increase the price of the new model.
The launch of the iPhone SE 4 comes at a time when the company is also expected to unveil its custom in-house modem and face competition from Qualcomm’s modem chips. The device will be the first iPhone to feature this new modem chip.
