Apple’s latest iPhones are now eligible to test SpaceX-owned Starlink’s direct-to-cell coverage, a technology that provides mobile connectivity from space. T-Mobile, a partner in the program, announced the expansion of support to its latest iOS software update. Initially, only Android smartphones were listed for testing, but Apple devices have been added. The trial offers text via satellite, with voice and data features set to be added later. This development follows FCC approval last year, allowing SpaceX and T-Mobile to enable Starlink satellites in areas affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.
