Apple Launches Longitudinal Health Study with Researchers

Apple has launched a new longitudinal research study that will investigate relationships between various aspects of health. The study, called the Apple Health Study, is a collaboration with researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Participants will be able to enroll through Apple’s Research app and share as much or as little of their health data as they prefer.

The study aims to collect data on multiple areas of health, including physical activity, sleep, heart rate, and more. Researchers will also distribute questionnaires to participants, providing a comprehensive understanding of their health. The study is expected to run for five years, during which time Apple hopes to develop new health features based on the findings.

Key areas of focus include aging, cardiovascular health, cognitive function, menstrual health, mental well-being, and respiratory health. With its extensive data collection capabilities through built-in sensors, the study has the potential to provide valuable insights into various aspects of human health.
