Apple Music has unveiled a new 15,000-square-foot studio near its Culver City headquarters. The studio will serve as an all-in-one creative hub for artists, songwriters, and content creators to work on radio interviews, write and record music, conduct photo shoots, and film video content. The space features two large radio studios with specially made spatial audio speakers, customizable light and screen settings, and hidden cameras.
The new studio is part of Apple Music’s continued push to foster an active listening experience, reflecting the company’s focus on building a music service for music fans. The studio will be used for various programming, including the Zane Lowe Show, and will feature a 4,000-square-foot soundstage and photo studio.
Apple co-head Rachel Newman stated that the studio is designed to be highly adaptable to any creative vision, with a blank space on purpose to allow artists to create whatever they want. The new space offers more room for video content and collaborations, as Apple Music’s content has become increasingly involved with visual elements.
To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, Apple Music will announce special programming, including a live show featuring an unspecified lineup of artists shaping the platform’s trajectory. Additionally, the service will showcase the top 500 most-streamed songs on Apple Music, finishing with the top 100 on July 5th.
