Apple has taken the No. 1 spot in the Drucker Institute’s annual ranking of the 250 best-managed companies in the US, surpassing Microsoft’s four-year reign at the top. The tech giant ranked highly in innovation and financial performance, with a score of 99.9 for innovation and 62.7 for employee engagement.
Nvidia took second place, while Intel ranked fourth. The list also includes non-tech companies such as Mastercard, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, and Philip Morris International. The ranking assesses companies’ performance in five key areas: customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility, and financial strength.
Apple’s success can be attributed to its innovative products like the iPhone 16, which incorporates Apple Intelligence AI software. Despite a lower score for employee engagement, Apple’s financial performance was strong, with a market cap of over $3.7 trillion at the end of 2024.
