Apple is reviving its mixed reality efforts despite poor sales of the Vision Pro headset. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will release a series of mixed reality devices in 2027 and 2028, with some upgrades expected to arrive earlier in 2025. The new headsets are expected to feature improved performance from the M5 system-on-a-chip and a lower price point. However, Kuo also notes that the first-generation Vision Pro is set to receive an upgrade to the M5 chip in Q3 2025, rather than a full redesign. This suggests that Apple may be focusing on incremental updates over more significant design changes.
