Apple Refreshes MacBook Air with New Chip, Price Cuts and Colors

Apple has released its refreshed 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air models for 2025, featuring a similar M4 chip to the base 14-inch MacBook Pro. Key upgrades include a wider 12-megapixel Center Stage webcam that can track faces within frames, support for two external monitors, and a new pale metallic blue color option replacing space gray.

The M4 chip starts with a 10-core CPU and 8-core GPU, offering a subtle upgrade from the previous generation. However, the biggest change is the reduced starting price: the 13-inch model now begins at $999, while the 15-inch model starts at $1,199. This return to form for the 13-inch model marks a significant reduction in pricing.

Alongside the MacBook Air refresh, Apple has also unveiled its new Mac Studio duo, featuring an M4 Max chip and an M3 Ultra chip, as well as the M3-powered iPad Air. The Mac Studios boast major internal changes, catering to hardcore professionals performing heavy-duty creative work or local AI tasks.

All three devices are now available for pre-order ahead of their official release next week.
