Apple Reveals macOS Tahoe Name Ahead of WWDC 2025 Event

Apple has leaked the name of its upcoming macOS operating system: macOS Tahoe. This comes ahead of Apple’s WWDC 2025 event next week, where the company is expected to unveil macOS 26 alongside other software updates.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, macOS 26 will be named after California’s scenic Lake Tahoe, known for its reflective waters that mirror the surrounding landscape. The leak suggests that this design inspiration may be reflected in the operating system’s rumored glass-like design with more translucent windows and icons.

Apple plans to rename all of its operating systems starting from next year, dropping version numbers in favor of a year-based naming scheme. This means iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26 will be the new names for upcoming software updates.

The company’s WWDC 2025 keynote is set to take place on June 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, where it will unveil macOS 26 alongside other software updates. Apple is also expected to debut new designs for its iPhone models, including an updated display size for the standard iPhone 17 model.

Note: The original article contains unrelated information about Sony and Danny Boyle’s movie “28 Years Later”, which has been omitted in this simplified version.
