Rumors surrounding the second-generation MacBook Neo have shifted. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has yet to decide on whether to add a touch screen to this laptop.
The addition of a touch screen would increase production costs, which may impact the $499 price tag. As a result, it is unlikely that the laptop will feature a touchscreen for years to come.
Despite earlier predictions from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said it was possible but also uncertain, Gurman has now ruled out the possibility of a touch screen in the next three years. However, the second-generation MacBook Neo is still expected to be released, with the primary upgrade being the A19 Pro chip and an increase to 12GB of RAM from the current 8GB.
