Apple is planning to release smart glasses at the end of 2026, according to a report by Bloomberg News. The company will start producing large quantities of prototypes with overseas suppliers this year. This move aims to diversify its product lineup and boost demand for artificial intelligence devices.
The news comes after Apple’s Vision Pro headset received lukewarm reception due to its high price tag and limited AI features. The new glasses will compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which have gained popularity among consumers.
In a related move, Apple has also put on hold plans for a camera-equipped Apple Watch that was initially expected to launch in 2027. This decision was reportedly made due to the lack of progress in developing such technology.
Apple did not immediately comment on the report, but it marks another step in the company’s efforts to expand its product offerings and stay competitive in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
