Apple Teases New M4 MacBook Air Models

Apple CEO Tim Cook has shared a short video teasing the upcoming launch of new M4 MacBook Air models. Based on the “Air” wording and the timing of the launch, it seems likely that the company will introduce new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air designs. However, design updates are not expected to be significant.

The upcoming M4 MacBook Air models will likely retain their current designs, with Apple only refreshing the machines every few years. The Liquid Retina Display technology used in the current model is expected to remain unchanged, although a nano-texture matte display upgrade option may become available for the new models.

Apple’s M4 chip promises performance improvements over the M3 chip, with up to 25% better CPU and GPU performance. The new chip will also bring efficiency gains, potentially leading to improved battery life.

Other features expected in the new MacBook Air models include a 16GB RAM starting point, improved FaceTime camera capabilities, and possibly three Thunderbolt 4 ports instead of two. Pricing remains unchanged from the M3 MacBook Air, with no rumors of changes.

While Apple has not confirmed an event for this year’s spring launch, it is expected that new MacBook Air models will be announced soon.
