Apple Teases OLED iPad Pro Launch This Year

Apple is planning to release its new OLED iPad Pro models later this year, according to a supplier-focused report from The Elec. The devices are expected to feature upgraded internals, including the M5 chip, but the external design will remain largely the same as the current version.

The report suggests that Apple might have initially considered delaying the launch of the iPad Pro due to technical challenges in mass-producing the new M5 chip. However, if the company wants to stick to its typical Spring launch schedule, it may need to push the release date back to 2026.

This year’s OLED iPad Pro is expected to see only minor changes, with little variation on the outside, but significant upgrades to the internal hardware. The South Korean company LX Semicon has been identified as a potential supplier of display drivers for the new device, with mass production scheduled for April to May.

While some analysts had predicted an early 2025 launch, this latest report suggests that Apple may be aiming to release the M5 iPad Pro later this year, potentially by the end of 2024. However, only time will tell if these plans come to fruition.
