Apple Inc. tested its new big-screen movie strategy with a Formula One film featuring Brad Pitt, ahead of the Grand Prix in Monaco. The tech giant invested heavily in the project, spending over $200 million on it. As part of this investment, Apple is seeking to create immersive experiences that simulate racing at high speeds.
To achieve this, Apple mounted dozens of iPhone cameras on cars participating in actual F1 events. The setup produced dramatic scenes and has caught the attention of Formula One, leading to talks about permanently installing its miniature lenses onto each car’s fuselage. This could change how the sport is televised for a global audience of around 70 million viewers per race.
