Apple has been quietly preparing for a major leap forward in its MacBook lineup, with internal code revealing plans for a laptop with built-in cellular connectivity. The company is reportedly testing an unreleased MacBook Pro model with the M5 Pro chip and Apple’s first 5G modem, codenamed “Centuari”. This development comes as Apple controls both the CPU and modem, allowing for a seamless and power-efficient solution.
The move follows previous reports that suggested cellular connections would arrive on the Mac before 2026. However, these plans may have changed since the code is from an unfinished product. Nevertheless, the evidence provides a promising sign for MacBook users, who will soon enjoy all-over wireless connectivity in their laptops.
