Apple has confirmed that its upcoming macOS Tahoe 26 will be the final operating system designed for Macs powered by Intel Corp. processors. This marks the end of support for legacy systems based on these chips, which have been used in Macs for about 20 years. The shift comes as Apple continues to transition to its own Apple Silicon semiconductors, starting with the end of 2020. macOS Tahoe 26 will be the last operating system to work on Intel-based Macs before they are phased out entirely.
