Apple to Launch New iPhone 16e and Update Software in Early April

Apple has announced its latest entry-level smartphone, the iPhone 16e, which boasts a larger 6.1-inch OLED display compared to its predecessor. The device will succeed the third-generation iPhone SE, marking the latter’s discontinuation.

In related news, Apple has revised the timeline for its upcoming software updates, now predicting an early April release instead of the previously mentioned broader timeframe. This update includes new Apple Intelligence features and languages, as well as major point updates for iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4.

The company is expected to roll out Apple Intelligence support in multiple languages, including Chinese (Simplified), English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish. This feature will be available with the April update, although Vietnamese language support is anticipated for 2025.

Meanwhile, rumors suggest that new iPhone 17 models may adopt an aluminum frame, marking a potential departure from the current stainless steel or titanium frames used in higher-end iPhones.

Additionally, Apple has confirmed plans to “significantly change” the iPhone’s design language later this year. A recent leak suggests that the iPhone 17 Air will feature a horizontal, bar-shaped design on its rear, possibly accompanied by an elongated camera bump.

Lastly, Apple CEO Tim Cook hinted at an upcoming launch scheduled for February 19, although no further details were shared. The company has also confirmed plans to release new betas for iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 in the coming weeks.
