Apple to Open Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Houston Region

Apple has announced plans to open an advanced manufacturing facility in the Houston region as part of a $500 billion national investment. The 250,000-square-foot facility will produce AI-driven servers that support Apple Intelligence, the tech giant’s AI software system.

The move marks a significant shift for the company, which is relocating critical manufacturing operations from overseas to the US. This decision highlights Houston’s growing reputation as a leader in industrial production and its ability to attract world-class companies.

Houston is already home to over 7,000 manufacturers producing more than $75 billion in goods annually. The city ranks second in the US for manufacturing GDP, solidifying its position as a major hub for industry.

“This is a testament to our region’s business-friendly environment, skilled workforce, and strategic global positioning,” said Greater Houston Partnership President Steve Kean. “We are bullish on Houston’s ability to win big.”

The new facility is expected to create thousands of jobs and drive investment in AI-driven manufacturing. It will also support local suppliers and enhance the city’s reputation as a leader in industrial production.

This move is part of a broader expansion of Foxconn’s presence in Houston, which has already established a manufacturing complex in northwest Harris County. The partnership between Foxconn and the Greater Houston Partnership has been instrumental in attracting companies like Apple to the region.
