Apple is reportedly planning a significant redesign of its iPhone for its 20th anniversary in 2027. According to a new report from Bloomberg, the company will introduce a foldable version and a bold new Pro model with more extensive use of glass.
This announcement comes after Apple’s successful launch of the iPhone X in 2017, which featured an all-glass display and marked a significant shift in design for the brand. The company is expected to follow a similar major redesign pattern, but it remains unclear how users will adapt to new designs.
While iOS 19 has been rumored to introduce a new glass-like design, this feature is specifically related to the upcoming release of the iPhone 17 Pro in September 2025, not 2027. Apple’s plans for the foldable iPhone are still uncertain, with some analysts predicting a release date of 2024 or later.
If Apple does plan to unveil its redesigned iPhone in 2027, it will likely be at the WWDC conference in June 2025. However, given the company’s history of delays and rumors surrounding new releases, a 2027 release is not entirely unexpected.
