Apple recently introduced two new Macs with the M4 chip, including the MacBook Pro and iMac. The company has also announced a new Mac mini, which features Thunderbolt 5 ports for faster connectivity.
The new Mac mini supports speeds of up to 120Gb/s, triple that of Thunderbolt 4. This upgrade is expected to be adopted by the next Mac Studio, as well as other Apple devices. However, Apple may not introduce support for Wi-Fi 7 on the new Mac Studio at launch, instead possibly rolling it out in a future update.
The M4 Max and M4 Ultra chips are also expected to play a key role in the new Mac Studio. The M4 Max chip, now available in MacBook Pro models, boasts a 16 core CPU and 40 core GPU. Apple’s M4 Ultra chip, which is rumored to be around double that power, could significantly enhance performance.
According to reports, the release date for the next Mac Studio has been set for mid-2025. The unveiling is likely to take place at WWDC25, where Apple typically announces new products and updates.
