A new leak from Jon Prosser suggests that Apple’s upcoming iOS 19 update will feature significant changes to the app icons on the iPhone. Contrary to previous claims, Prosser now states that users will have the option to make their app icons slightly more round, although they won’t be completely round like those in visionOS.
In addition to the updated app icons, iOS 19 is also expected to introduce a floating pill-shaped tab bar on the bottom of the interface. This new feature will appear in various apps, including the App Store, Apple Music, and Messages, and can be utilized by third-party apps with custom options.
Other design changes include translucent menus, customizable button styles, and rounded corners for elements like Haptic Touch menus and Control Center sliders. The upcoming update also includes subtle lighting effects in the Messages app to give it a glass-like appearance.
Apple will announce iOS 19 on June 9 at its WWDC 2025 event, so stay tuned for further details.
