Apple TV+ has dominated the 2025 Emmy nominations with its flagship series “Severance” leading the pack. The dystopian workplace drama received a record-breaking 27 nominations, including nods for Adam Scott and Britt Lower in acting categories.
“The Studio,” a Hollywood satire starring Seth Rogen, followed closely behind with 23 nominations, tying a comedy record set last year. Apple’s other popular series “The Morning Show” and “Slow Horses” also secured nominations.
In the limited series category, HBO’s dark drama “The Penguin” received 24 nominations, including nods for Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti. Netflix’s acclaimed “Adolescence” earned 13 nominations, including a supporting actor nod for 15-year-old Owen Cooper.
HBO remains the leader in overall Emmy nominations with 142, followed by Netflix with 120. Apple TV+ secured 79 nominations, while Disney+’s “Andor” received 14 nominations.
The shift to streaming has changed the landscape of television and the Emmys, with many shows receiving little audience attention despite their critical acclaim. The awards ceremony will air on CBS this year, marking a change in rotation from broadcast networks.
