Apple has announced a new Los Angeles studio for its Apple Music division, marking what it calls “the company’s most ambitious creative project to date.” The three-story facility in Culver City will span over 15,000 square feet and feature various spaces for live performances, interviews, and songwriting.
The studio includes a soundstage for live performances, advanced radio studios with Spatial Audio playback, and a dedicated mixing room. There are also private isolation booths for individual artists to work on their projects. The building’s “A-List Corridor” will showcase images and artwork from Apple Music’s past and present.
According to the company, the new L.A. studio will anchor a global network of Apple Music’s creative hubs, with additional studios in development. This marks a significant milestone for Apple Music Radio as it celebrates its 10-year anniversary.
In honor of this occasion, Apple Music Radio will feature special week-long programming, including a countdown of the top 500 most-streamed songs over the last decade and an exclusive version of Replay All Time, allowing listeners to see and stream their favorite songs. The studio is set to open later this summer, coinciding with the anniversary on June 2015.
