Apple Unveils iOS 18.4 Update with New Features and Improvements

Apple has released its latest iOS 18.4 update, bringing new features such as Apple Intelligence, an updated photo app, and a fresh batch of emojis. The update includes several features first announced in 2024.

iPhone users can now update to iOS 18.4 by going to the Settings app and tapping General, then Software Update. The update is available on all iPhone models that support iOS 18.4, including older models like the iPhone XS from 2018.

The new Apple Intelligence features are available on newer iPhone models, such as the iPhone 16 series, and provide priority notifications with enhanced functionality. Additionally, Apple has expanded its language support to include French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified) — as well as localized English for Singapore and India.

The update also brings new emoji, including Face with bags under eyes, Flag of Sark, and Root vegetable. Furthermore, the Photos app has received a revamp, offering sorting options by oldest or newest photos, reordering items in collections, and disabling “Recently Viewed” and “Recently Shared” collections.

Other notable features include Ambient Music, which allows users to access playlists through the Control Center, and the new Sketch style for images in Image Playground. The update also expands Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro headset and launches a new app to help users discover content and experiences.

In other news, severe storms are affecting the US South and Midwest, with reports of damaging tornadoes and flooding in multiple states. At least four people have been reported dead as a result of these weather events.
