Apple has unveiled its latest operating system, macOS 26 “Tahoe”, which promises to deliver a significant visual overhaul and exciting new features for users. The update introduces Liquid Glass, a visually appealing design motif that incorporates soft transparency and subtle gradients into various interfaces.
The update also brings major improvements to the Spotlight search tool, which is now smarter and more intuitive than ever. Users can access system actions, in-app actions, and even Quick Keys to speed up their workflow. Additionally, AI-powered Shortcuts are now available, allowing users to automate tasks with summarizing text, generating images, and more.
Other notable features include the integration of Continuity features, such as the Phone app on Macs, Live Activities, and a new Game Overlay. The update also includes improvements to gaming, a dedicated Games app, and enhanced accessibility features like a new Magnifier feature.
The public beta for macOS 26 Tahoe is expected to be available in July, with the official release planned for the fall of 2025. Users with recent Macs can expect to receive the update as a free upgrade when it’s released later this year.
