Apple Unveils Refreshed MacBook Air Models with M4 Chip for 2025 Launch

Apple is set to kick off 2025 by announcing new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models, featuring its newly introduced M4 chip. The update promises significant performance gains and enhancements to the lightweight laptops.

The M4 chip boasts a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, delivering a 25% boost in multi-core CPU performance compared to its predecessor, the M3 chip. This improved power efficiency is expected to extend battery life, a key feature of the MacBook Air range.

Base configurations will likely come with 16GB of RAM, doubling Apple’s recent minimum RAM standard from 8GB. No major design changes are expected, following the last redesign in 2022.

Notable upgrades include a potential 12MP camera supporting Centre Stage technology for FaceTime and Zoom, as well as improved connectivity options with three Thunderbolt 4 ports and support for up to two external displays.

The launch is anticipated via press release between January and March, potentially preceding other spring releases like the new iPhone SE.
