Apple’s AI Assistant Sky Aims to Revolutionize Mac Workflow

Apple has unveiled its latest project, Sky, a cutting-edge AI assistant designed to simplify tasks on Mac computers. Created by Ari Weinstein and Conrad Kramer, former creators of Shortcuts (acquired by Apple in 2017), Sky is an AI-powered tool that assists users with actions and answers questions related to any open window or app.

Sky floats over the user’s screen, understanding what’s being done at any given time. Users can summon it using a hotkey, accessing a small floating interface that takes action based on the apps currently open. With integrations for Calendar, Messages, Notes, Safari, and more, Sky performs tasks like scheduling events or sending messages with minimal input.

Federico Viticci of MacStories has praised Sky’s potential to change macOS workflow, highlighting its ability to automate day-to-day tasks. For example, users can type a command like “send a link and summary of this to John” into the app, which will quickly summarize content from the selected webpage, identify the recipient, and send the message using Messages.

Sky is expected to launch this summer and will be available on the waitlist for interested users to sign up. With its AI capabilities and natural language processing, Sky has the potential to revolutionize Mac workflow and simplify user tasks.
