Apple’s AI Vision Falls Short After Months of Teasers

Apple’s iPhone 16 lineup, touted as “built for Apple intelligence,” has been a lukewarm reception. Despite months of hype, the promised features have rolled out slowly, with only some basic tools like email tone adjusters and photo clean-up options available now.

The company announced Visual Intelligence, Image Playground, AI image generation, Genmoji, and a ChatGPT extension for Siri in recent updates to iOS 18.3. However, these offerings are still far from the ambitious promises made in September. Apple is set to release further updates with iOS 18.4, which may include advanced features like screen recognition and app automation, but it’s unclear if they will meet expectations.

For now, it seems Apple Intelligence has taken a soft landing, failing to deliver on its initial promise of revolutionary AI capabilities for the iPhone.
