Apple’s Bezel-Free iPhone Delayed Beyond 2026 Due to Technical Issues

Apple’s ambitious plan to launch an all-screen iPhone with zero bezels in 2026 appears to be facing significant technical challenges. According to a report, the technology for a bezel-free display may not be ready for mass production until further notice.

The development of this technology involves collaboration between Apple and suppliers such as Samsung and LG. However, several issues have arisen that are hindering progress. One major challenge is adopting Thin Film Encapsulation technology for OLED protection and Optical Clear Adhesive to connect the film around curved edges. Additionally, there’s a need for sufficient space for iPhone antennas.

These technical hurdles cause distortions when viewed from the side, raising concerns about potential damage in the future. Apple had initially planned to finalize display statistics by now but is now uncertain about its launch timeline.

The company had previously reported that it would start mass production of the iPhone 18 lineup in 2026, with a bezel-free display being a key feature. However, due to these technical setbacks, the project has slipped further ahead and Apple’s dream of a single “slab of glass” iPhone remains on hold.
