Apple has been quietly working on a new smart display, dubbed the “HomePad,” which is expected to launch this spring. According to Mark Gurman, the device will feature Apple Intelligence, a smarter Siri, and widgets, making it a compelling addition to the company’s home product lineup.
The HomePad is said to be a heavy focus on integration with existing Apple devices, allowing for seamless control through the Home app and access to slideshows from the Photos app. A built-in security camera and video/audio intercom, as well as FaceTime capabilities, are also rumored to be part of the package.
However, it’s not just the HomePad that’s generating buzz – Apple is reportedly working on a smart home camera for 2026, which could potentially rival the HomePad in terms of features and price. But with rumors of even more smart home devices on the horizon, including thermostats and lightbulbs, it’s unclear whether this new product lineup will be enough to challenge Google’s Nest.
On the tech front, the Vision Pro 2 is expected to arrive between fall 2025 and spring 2026, with Mark Gurman speculating that the M5 chip could be required for AI capabilities. Meanwhile, high-end iPhone 18 models are rumored to feature variable aperture cameras, which could improve Portrait-like depth of field and low-light performance.
AirPods Pro 2 have already brought significant hearing health features, but rumors suggest Apple is planning to take it a step further by adding more health sensors in the future. Finally, expectations for the iPhone 17 Air have been reset due to changes in battery tech, which may result in a slightly thicker device.
