Apple’s Foldable iPhone Could Revive Stalled Market

Apple is expected to enter the foldable smartphone market in 2026, potentially revitalizing a stagnant industry. According to display analyst Ross Young, the company’s dominant position in flagship smartphones could lead to significant growth for foldables. Young predicts over 30% growth in the foldable market in 2026, followed by continued 20% growth in 2027 and 2028.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is rumored to be between 7.9 and 8.3 inches in size, with a “clamshell” design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip. The device would allow for a full-size iPhone when unfolded and a smaller, pocketable phone when folded.

The introduction of a foldable iPhone could boost the market, which has seen customer interest wane recently. However, if successful, it could lead to a record year for foldables. Apple’s rumored release date is around September 2026.
