Apple’s iPhone Sales Revealed: Surprising Trends and Best-Selling Models

In the early days of the iPhone, there was only one model available to consumers. Today, Apple releases four flagships every year, along with the iPhone SE and older models, making it challenging for customers to keep track of their sales. However, a recent report from CIRP provides insight into which models are selling best.

According to the report, in 2024, the base iPhone model accounted for 42% of total iPhone sales, followed by the Pro Max at 26%. The Pro model trailed behind with 19%, and the Plus model sold only 13%.

Initially, it may seem counterintuitive that the base iPhone sells more than double the Pro model. However, there’s an important detail to consider: Apple only releases one Pro and Pro Max model per year, but they offer multiple base models at different price points.

When browsing the Apple Store online, customers can see that the Pro and Pro Max models are limited to the recently launched iPhone 16 line. In contrast, the base or Plus models come in three variants with distinct price points. This disparity explains why the base iPhone class is the top-selling category for Apple, even if individual models like the Pro Max perform better.

Furthermore, comparing the sales of the Plus model to the Pro Max reveals a significant gap, as the two models are pitted against each other despite being from different classes.
