Apple’s Major UI Overhaul for WWDC 2025 Confirmed

In just two weeks, Apple is set to unveil its major design overhaul for iOS 19 and macOS 16 at WWDC 2025. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the changes will be applied across all of Apple’s operating systems, including tvOS and watchOS.

The new UI, codenamed “Solarium,” aims to give the operating systems a sleek and modern appearance. This will include elements borrowed from visionOS, such as translucent backgrounds and circular app icons. The interface is expected to feature rounded corners in options within dialog boxes, app menus, and search bars.

Apple’s approach to design changes differs significantly from its competitors like Google and Samsung, which have focused on AI advancements. Instead, Apple will focus primarily on design and appearance at WWDC 2025.

This move comes as Apple faces several challenges, including lawsuits over delayed Siri features and tariff pressure. President Trump recently threatened to impose a 25% tariff on iPhones manufactured in India instead of the US.
