Apple is finally bringing its revamped Siri features to your iPhone sooner than expected. The company has been working on the upgrade in secret, but a recent newsletter by insider Mark Gurman revealed that massive improvements are coming to App Intents framework.
The new features will allow Siri to carry out simpler operations like commenting on posts, finding and editing images, adding items to shopping carts, logging into apps, and more. While the original promises of Siri were ambitious, this is still a significant improvement over the current version.
However, Apple is taking its time to release the updates due to security concerns. The company wants to avoid any potential harm or lawsuits that could arise from inaccurate information provided by Siri in sensitive apps like health and banking applications.
Currently, many Siri queries are being handled by ChatGPT for Apple users, while Samsung’s Galaxy S25 phones use Google’s Gemini AI model. Apple must improve App Intents to compete with these alternatives and provide a better experience for its users. The revamped Siri features are expected to be released in the spring of next year, and Apple plans to market them heavily.
