Apple’s Standalone AR Glasses Plans Remain on Track

Apple has not abandoned its long-term goal of creating standalone augmented reality (AR) glasses, according to reports from Mark Gurman. Despite shelving a rumored Mac-tethered AR glasses project, the company is instead focusing on developing underlying technology that will make a standalone device possible. The team is taking a cautious approach, prioritizing screens and silicon development over launching a product sooner.

The AR glasses Apple plans to develop are described as resembling regular glasses, similar to the Xreal One, rather than headsets like the Vision Pro. This approach suggests that Apple aims to create a more practical and wearable device for everyday use, rather than a specialized headset.
