The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District’s Financial Oversight Committee is looking for qualified candidates to fill four upcoming vacancies. The committee reviews significant financial matters, assists with communicating school finance issues, and provides oversight for district financing measures.
Ideal candidates have experience in professional finance or accounting, or a deep understanding of public education operations and finance. They must also be committed to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment for students.
The committee is seeking student representatives from each high school to join an advisory role. Student members will have an advisory vote on agenda items, which will be recorded in official minutes.
Student application forms are available online at smmusd.org, with a deadline of Friday, April 17, 2026. Committee meetings occur once a month at the District Office or in Malibu; more information can be found on the SMMUSD FOC page.
