A group of Arab nations including Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt have rejected US President Donald Trump’s proposal to resettle or evict Palestinians from Gaza. The foreign ministers issued a statement in Cairo, reaffirming their commitment to rebuilding the enclave while ensuring the continued presence of Palestinians.
They firmly reject any actions that threaten Palestinian rights, including settlement expansion, forced evictions, home demolitions, and land annexation. The group called for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and rejected attempts to partition the Strip.
The statement was made after a meeting of foreign ministers in Cairo, where they also praised the US role in facilitating the recent ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. However, they emphasized the importance of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestinian refugees.
The rejection comes as Trump had previously suggested relocating over 1 million Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries. The proposal was met with criticism from leaders worldwide, who viewed it as a threat to Palestinian rights and territorial integrity.
