Arc browser to get native ad blocker and tracking prevention features
The Arc browser is getting some new features to make your web browsing experience even better. One of the most exciting updates is a built-in ad blocker and tracking prevention feature, which will help keep your internet clean and free from distractions.
The Arc browser has been gaining popularity since its launch in 2022, especially among Apple device users. Now, it’s coming to Windows 11 and other platforms. The developer, The Browser Company, wants to attract users of popular browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge by offering a competitive and better browsing experience.
To achieve this goal, Arc will be further improved with the new features mentioned above, which were revealed in an email announcing its Early Bird program for testers. This community will get to try out the latest preview versions of Arc and provide feedback to help improve any features before their final release.
The developer’s goal is to build a “cleaner internet” with fewer popups, ads, and banners, making it easier to focus on what you’re doing in the browser. The ad blocker feature is still in development but will be available soon. This update is motivated by Chrome’s transition to Manifest V3, which restricts the capabilities of certain extensions.
As Arc is built on Google’s Chromium engine, this change will affect the browser, and that’s why Arc’s developer wants to keep it “clear of the clutter” with its own integrated ad blocker that won’t be affected by Manifest V3.
