Arcane Co-Creator Reveals Details of Upcoming League of Legends Shows

Arcane co-creator Christian Linke has confirmed details about three upcoming sequel shows, including how far along development is for the next series. The season 2 finale wrapped up Piltover and Zaun’s storylines, leaving room for new tales yet to come.

Linke previously shared information about these projects, which include several in development and some continuing characters’ stories from the first show. This means familiar faces might return in the League of Legends TV universe.

The next three shows will take place in Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia. While their order is unclear, Linke confirmed that production on the next series has been underway for a year.

Given Linke’s confirmation of returning characters, it seems likely that Noxus will be explored first, as several key figures from the region are already introduced in Arcane. The three-eyed raven’s appearance in the final minutes hinted at Jericho Swain’s arrival and his connection to conflict with Ionia.

The fact that production is already a year in means there may be a shorter wait between seasons than expected. If development stages were similar to those of Arcane, which took six years for season 1 and three more for season 2, the next show could arrive as early as 2026. This would suggest a faster production rate for new League of Legends series.

Linke’s statement is reassuring for the TV universe, indicating a solid plan for upcoming regions and storylines. With returning characters and new locations, it will feel more like an independent follow-up rather than Arcane season 3. The video game adaptation has only just begun exploring its world, with plenty of champions to feature and backstories to adapt.
