Archer, Palantir Partner for Next-Gen Aviation Tech

Archer Aviation and Palantir Technologies have announced a partnership to build the AI foundation for next-generation aviation technologies. The two companies plan to work in parallel to develop software for critical aviation systems, including air traffic control, movement control, and route planning.

The partnership aims to leverage Palantir’s Foundry and AIP platforms to accelerate Archer’s aircraft manufacturing capabilities at its facilities in Georgia and Silicon Valley. This will enable the development of next-gen software utilizing AI to improve aviation systems, focusing on efficiency, safety, and affordability.

Archer and Palantir will formalize their partnership during a signing ceremony later today, with Palantir co-founder and CEO Alex Karp set to meet with Archer founder and CEO Adam Goldstein. According to Karp, the partnership “redefines the future of flight” by integrating advanced AI capabilities with Archer’s innovative approach to aircraft manufacturing and operations.

The aviation industry has long been constrained by legacy technology and a dominant duopoly in commercial aviation. However, with the rapid acceleration of AI and breakthroughs in distributed electric propulsion, the industry is poised for change. The partnership between Archer and Palantir aims to drive innovation across the entire value chain, making flight more efficient, safe, and accessible.

By integrating Palantir’s advanced AI capabilities with Archer’s aircraft manufacturing expertise, the companies are setting the stage for a transformative leap in efficiency, safety, and sustainability. As Goldstein noted, “AI and software present an inflection point that will shape the future of aviation.”
