Ariane 6 Second Launch Postponed Due to Ground Operations

The second launch of Ariane 6, Europe’s heavy launcher, has been postponed due to ongoing ground operations necessary for interfacing with the launcher. The new launch date will be announced once these operations are completed.

Ariane 6 is scheduled to launch from France’s Guiana Spaceport on March 3, 2025, carrying the CSO-3 satellite for the French Air and Space Force’s Space Command. The rocket will utilize its two-booster configuration for this mission.

The Ariane 6 features a modular design, allowing it to launch payloads into deep space from low-Earth orbit. Standing over 60 meters tall, the rocket can weigh almost 900 tonnes when launched with a full payload.

During the flight, the main stage and boosters will be powered by the Vulcain 2.1 engine and P120C boosters, respectively. The upper stage will utilize the reignitable Vinci engine to reach orbit. After payload separation, Ariane 6 plans to perform a final burn to deorbit the upper stage and reduce space debris.

A live stream of the second launch is available on [insert link] starting at 16:35 CET on March 3.
