The Liberty Bowl saw its fair share of big plays on Friday as Arkansas edged out Texas Tech 39-26. The Razorbacks’ offense was fueled by quarterback Taylen Green, who passed for 341 yards and rushed for 81.
Green had three total touchdowns, including a memorable 94-yard touchdown reception from receiver Dazmin James in the first quarter. Arkansas also scored on a read option play where Green himself punched it in for a 12-yard touchdown run.
The Red Raiders struggled to find the endzone, with only one play of over 45 yards and two fourth-down conversions that failed. Texas Tech’s freshman quarterback Will Hammond had limited experience but showed promise, completing 15 of 23 passes.
Despite Arkansas’ offensive concerns, including playing without receiver Andrew Armstrong, the team managed to outscore Texas Tech 39-26. This marked Arkansas’ 29th win in their series against the Red Raiders, with their last victory coming in 2014.
