Armie Hammer Reflects on Cannibalism Allegations and Personal Struggles

Armie Hammer has spoken out for the first time about the cannibalism allegations that damaged his Hollywood career four years ago. The 38-year-old actor appeared on a podcast, where he described feeling “in full panic mode” as the scandal unfolded.

In March 2021, Hammer was the subject of an investigation by the Los Angeles police department, which closed in May 2023 without charges being filed. He has since apologized for his past behavior and taken responsibility for some of the graphic messages attributed to him at the time.

Hammer revealed that he struggled with maintaining a clean image, feeling like an “alien” compared to the public persona he was expected to portray. He admitted to having fantasies about rope bondage and possessing his partner, which he said were taken out of context by others.

The actor explained that his social media behavior was partly a response to his feelings of disconnection from the public’s perception of him. He acknowledged that some of his online activities were misinterpreted, saying “If anyone took anyone’s bedroom conversations… and read them out of context, everyone’s going to go, ‘You guys are disgusting.'”

Hammer’s comments come as he attempts to rebuild his career after years of scrutiny over the cannibalism allegations.
