PS5 and PS4 users will soon be able to play three classic mech combat games from FromSoftware’s Armored Core series. Sony announced during its State of Play livestream that the titles, including Armored Core, Armored Core: Project Phantasma, and Armored Core: Master of Arena, will release this year as part of the PS Plus Premium catalogue.
All three original releases were published on PlayStation 1, with the first game receiving support from Sony. The new releases are notable for their challenging gameplay, which may appeal to fans of the newer Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. However, details about the release dates and trophy support remain scarce.
The games will be emulated originals, as is the case with all PS+ classics, but users can remap controls via an emulator. The Armored Core series has a dedicated fan base, with some enthusiasts expressing hope for future additions to the classic collection.
