Arsonist Arrested in New Mexico, Authorities Investigate Possible Domestic Terrorism

A 40-year-old man, Jamison Wagner, has been arrested by federal authorities in connection with recent arson attacks in New Mexico. According to the Department of Justice, Wagner is facing charges for two separate incidents: one at a Tesla Albuquerque showroom in February and another at the Republican Party of New Mexico’s office in March.

The FBI announced that their agents had arrested Wagner on Saturday morning, citing evidence from an ongoing investigation into the March arson attack. The agency stated that they believe Wagner is responsible for the February incident as well.

In February, a fire was reported at the Tesla showroom, damaging two vehicles in the parking lot. Investigators found an incendiary device with a gelatinous substance similar to napalm, which was later confirmed by the ATF forensic laboratory.

The March arson attack occurred on the same day that President Donald Trump called for the designation of these attacks as domestic terrorism. Wagner’s arrest comes amid a series of incidents targeting Tesla facilities across nine states since January 2025, including arson, gunfire, and vandalism.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously described the attacks as “insane and deeply wrong,” stating that his company has done nothing to deserve such evil actions. The case against Wagner is ongoing, with authorities investigating possible domestic terrorism connections.
