Assassin’s Creed Shadows Gets New Game Plus Update in July

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has revealed its summer roadmap, which includes several major updates that will enhance the gameplay experience. One of these updates is the long-awaited New Game Plus mode, set to arrive on July 29 for players who have completed the main storyline.

While it’s good news for fans who want more challenges, I’m left wondering why it took so long to implement this feature. Shadows heavily relies on shadows in its stealth mechanics, and changing the time of day would significantly impact gameplay. The update will allow players to switch between different times of day, making stealth missions easier.

The New Game Plus update is part of a series of September updates that also include region maps properly unfogging when completing all viewpoints, uncapped cutscene framerates, and improved performance at 144 frames per second.

However, the most significant update comes on September 16, when Shadows will receive its first expansion: Claws of Awaji. This free DLC adds a new storyline, gear, characters, and a new region to explore. It’s set to be released for players who have completed the main plot, giving them more content to sink their teeth into.

Overall, these updates are a welcome addition to Shadows’ roadmap, and fans will appreciate the extra challenges and content.
