Two astronauts, Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, are set to embark on a spacewalk outside the International Space Station. The spacewalk is scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. EDT and will last around six hours.
During the spacewalk, the astronauts will install a mounting bracket to prepare for future upgrades, increasing the station’s power generation capability by up to 30%. They will also relocate a communications antenna.
This marks McClain’s third spacewalk and Ayers’ first. The mission, labeled U.S. Spacewalk 93, is the 275th spacewalk in support of space station assembly and maintenance. Live coverage can be watched on NASA+.
