NASA’s Crew-10 mission has brought some humor to the International Space Station (ISS). On early Sunday morning, Russian cosmonaut Ivan Vagner greeted four new astronauts wearing an alien mask and practical attire. The “alien” welcome was a lighthearted moment for the crew as they prepared for deboarding.
Vagner’s prank came after SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule docked to the station at 12:04 a.m., about 29 hours after launching from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The new arrivals included NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov.
After the hatch opened, the crew members shook hands and hugged the Expedition 72 crew, who were welcoming their replacements with a ship’s bell rung. “It was a wonderful day,” said Suni Williams, commander of the mission. The new arrivals will spend nine months on board before returning home.
