Scientists have created the first detailed map of Tylos’ atmosphere, a 900-light-year-away exoplanet. The results show that a powerful sodium-rich jet stream speeds along the equator at nearly 45,000mph. Beneath this fast-moving layer are slower winds of titanium and iron. This “ultra-hot Jupiter” is a gas giant orbiting its host star, with surface conditions inhospitable to human life. However, observers would witness breathtaking sunrises due to Tylos’ unique atmospheric composition, characterized by vivid reds, yellows, and purples.
