Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo fired back at a fan who claimed he was out late on the eve of the Peach Bowl, despite finishing with a record-breaking performance. The fan shared a photo of Skattebo at a bar surrounded by people, sparking accusations that he was partying before the big game.
However, in a social media post 24 hours later, Skattebo claimed he was actually out with family for dinner at 8:30 pm and had been drinking non-alcoholic beverages. He called the fan’s original post “ragebait” and expressed disappointment in their intentions.
The fan who shared the initial photo later admitted to posting it as “ragebait,” stating they were trying to get a reaction from Skattebo’s fans. They defended their actions, saying they worked hard to build their career and would never try to ruin someone else’s.
Despite the controversy, Skattebo was named Peach Bowl MVP after his outstanding performance in Arizona State’s double-overtime loss to Texas. He finished with 143 yards and two touchdowns, earning him recognition for his impressive display on the field.
