Asus RX 9070 XT TUF Gaming GPU Leaked, AMD Launch Imminent?

AMD’s highly anticipated RDNA 4 GPU series is near launch, and a retailer in Ukraine has leaked the Asus Radeon RX 9070 XT TUF Gaming. The GPU was unboxed and showcased on Instagram, suggesting it may be available at retailers soon.

The RX 9070 XT boasts 16GB of memory, a triple-fan configuration, and will likely require three slots in your case. It features a phase-change thermal pad for improved cooling and dual BIOS switches to toggle between different performance modes. The GPU is expected to offer 4,096 Stream Processors or 64 Compute Units with a 256-bit interface for 640 GB/s of bandwidth.

Leaks suggest the RX 9070 XT’s raster performance will be near that of the RTX 4080 Super, with boost clocks reaching almost 3 GHz. The GPU is rumored to cost around $500, which could impact its success in the market.

AMD needs to strike a balance between pricing and performance to increase market share. The company has successfully priced their cards close to Nvidia counterparts, but a more significant price drop may be needed for the RX 9070 XT to stand out.

The official launch of RDNA 4 is expected on Thursday or earlier, with overseas retailers scheduled to receive stock on January 23. With the GPU’s performance and pricing still shrouded in mystery, fans are eagerly awaiting AMD’s strategy for this generation.
